IMD predicts monsoon in Telangana and several states

An official said that the southwest monsoon has entered portions of numerous states, according to the india Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD further noted that some areas of Telangana, the majority of Andhra Pradesh, some areas of odisha, some areas of the west central-northwest Bay of bengal, some areas of Gangetic West bengal, jharkhand, and bihar are now under the influence of the southwest monsoon.


The weather forecast agency stated that "conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon over some more parts of south Peninsular india, remaining parts of odisha, Gangetic West bengal, jharkhand and bihar and some parts of Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and madhya pradesh during next two to three days." The heat wave is predicted to persist in scattered regions over Vidarbha for the time being, then subside.

In addition, the IMD forecasted that most locations will have light to moderate rainfall over the following week, with isolated thunderstorms and lightning becoming highly probable in the northeast and adjacent east of the nation. There was "heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West bengal, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh on june 23," according to the report. The IMD further said that there is a chance for sporadic extremely heavy rains to fall over odisha from 23 to 25, as well as across bihar on june 23, Gangetic West bengal on june 25, and odisha from 22 to 26.

"Rainfall is likely to increase from june 27 over eastern india and it is probably going to be isolated heavy to very heavy over odisha, south jharkhand, and adjoining areas of Gangetic West bengal during june 27-28," it added.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh from june 23 to june 28 and the plains of Northwest india, with the exception of west rajasthan from june 25, are very likely to have light to moderate widespread rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, and lightning.

Over west rajasthan on june 27 and 28, there is a chance of isolated light showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.
