Classes at Khammam Medical College to start from this academic year
The government Medical college in khammam will begin lessons this academic year with an intake of 100 seats, according to Transport minister Puvvada ajay Kumar. On Wednesday, the minister and the district collector, VP Gautham, visited the Medical college to view the ongoing construction. Speaking to the media, he stated that the work was progressing quickly and will be finished in time for the classes to begin.
The lessons would be held at the former college building, which is set on five acres of land, and the R&B office, which is situated on three acres. At a cost of Rs 9 crore, the outdated collectorate building across from the government General Hospital was being restored. The State government has already approved 166 crore rupees for the medical college's development. According to ajay Kumar, the National Medical Commission has given permission to hold courses with 100 MBBS seats.
Patients came to khammam Hospital for treatment from Suryapet, Mahabubabad, and areas of ap due to the hospital's sophisticated facilities and equipment. Thus, he said, khammam will become a medical hotspot in the near future. ajay Kumar officially opened a Phaco machine at government General Hospital earlier in the day. This gadget cost Rs. 28 lakh and will treat patients with advanced ophthalmology.
