400 persons sentenced to imprisonment for ‘drunk driving’ in Telangana Hyderabad

Five people will be incarcerated for six days, while two will serve seven days. They will be joined by 32 other people who will serve five days in prison and 131 more people who will serve three days behind bars. They both committed the same offence: driving while intoxicated. The city courts handed out prison sentences ranging from one day to seven days to a total of 400 people who were captured during drunk driving inspections across the city.

The hyderabad traffic police charged 4,321 people who were pulled over for driving while intoxicated during the month of June, and each one of them appeared in court. While the other defendants received a fine and a warning, the court sentenced 400 of them to prison along with a fine. The Road Transport Authority received a letter from the traffic police and 44 people had their driving privileges revoked for infractions.

The checks are being done constantly by the traffic police. "Checks are conducted between the hours of 2 and 5 in the morning at various locations to prevent drunk driving. evening routine inspections are still being conducted, according to Additional Commissioner for Traffic G Sudheer Babu.

Additionally, the Traffic Training Institutes (TTIs) in Goshamahal and Begumpet requested that everyone who was apprehended undergo counseling. According to traffic police officers, people who are found driving while intoxicated will have to come before the court, and if they are imprisoned, it will be impossible for them to get government positions, passports, and visa clearance.
