
Late DIG Vijayakumar chose Police dept despite he got IAS chance
Retired as a Rajathi government School Teacher. vijayakumar has 2 sisters. He completed his schooling through tamil medium. Later, he studied PE Mechanic in higher education and came to chennai for work. As he could not find a suitable job for his studies, he joined a Xerox shop and studied for competitive exams using the salary he got.
In 1999, he wrote the Group 2 examination and in 2000, he joined the Hindu Samaya Charities Department as an Audit Inspector. He studied continuously and wrote the TNPSC Group-1 exam in 2003. Passed it and directly joined the service as DSP. He passed the civil service exam in 2009.
Despite being offered an IAS job, he chose his preferred IPS job. After completing his training period, he worked as CBCID SP in Kanchipuram, Cuddalore and Nagapattinam districts. He also served as Deputy Commissioner in Anna Nagar, Chennai.
Later, vijayakumar was promoted as DIG and served as coimbatore DIG since last January. He efficiently investigated the Satankulam double murder case and the TNPSC fraud case that rocked tamil Nadu.
Vijayakumar, who wanted his daughter to become a doctor, advised his daughter to study well accordingly. Meanwhile, DIG vijayakumar said, 'This world is an illusion. Everything that happens in this illusion is an illusion..''The audio which runs for 6 minutes and 11 seconds was spread on social media. However, the police have said that this audio is false.
