Lok Adalat regarding land acquisition across tamil Nadu Order to pay compensation of Rs 111 crore
CHENNAI: 3 thousand 536 pending cases have been settled in the Lok-Athalam which was held for special cases related to land dispute held across tamil Nadu yesterday and compensation of Rs 111.14 crore has been ordered.
Lok-Adalat was held yesterday across the state for special cases related to land dispute as per instructions of madras high court Chief Justice and State Law Commission Chairman sv Gangaburwala and high court Senior Judge and State Law Commission Acting Chairman S. Vaithyanathan.
7 Sessions: Accordingly, 5 sessions were held in madras high court under the supervision of high court Legal Affairs Committee Chairman Justice D. Krishnakumar, headed by Justices Mohammad Shafiq, J. Sathya Narayana Prasad, V. lakshmi Narayanan, K. Rajasekhar and retired Justice P. Gokuldas, in the madurai Branch of the High Court. 2 sessions headed by Justices R. vijayakumar and P. Thanapal were constituted and the pending cases were heard.
Similarly, 154 sessions were held across tamil Nadu and 3 thousand 536 pending cases related to land dispute were settled and the victims were given Rs. 111.34 crore as compensation was ordered.
Arrangements for this were made by State Legal Affairs Commission Member Secretary and district Judge A. Naseer Ahmed, high court Legal Affairs Commission Secretary and district Judge K. Sudha.
