The matter came to light after Akshat Sharma contacted the Cyber police station in New Delhi. The issue came to light after Union home minister Rajeev Kumar complained that he received an email from a "fake" email address from someone claiming to be an officer on special duty on his official ID.


Complainant Akshat Sharma said in his complaint that the person in his mail told him that he was asked to pass instructions to appoint Robin Upadhyay as senior assistant vice president and project coordinator for the ganga Expressway project. police in their investigation found that the email address rajeev.osd.mha@gmail.com was fake and created with the intention of deceiving people. Based on technical surveillance, our team suspected the prime suspect Robin Upadhyay and based on technical analysis, it was found that the e-mail ID was created six-seven days ago and registered in the name of Robin Upadhyay. "The suspect was later traced and based on preliminary inquiry, on saturday He was arrested from his house in meerut in the evening," Additional Deputy Commissioner of police (New Delhi) hemant Tiwari said.



hemant Tiwari said that during the investigation, it was revealed that Robin Upadhyay was a civil engineer and had extensive experience in civil construction projects, and had thought of obtaining fake references to get the job. "Therefore, he searched for ongoing highway projects and their progress. After that, he created an email ID impersonating Rajiv Kumar, an officer on special duty, Union home Minister. Also, he attached a CV showing his credentials to get the job," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of police ( New Delhi) informed by hemant Tiwari.
