Environmental clearance for Palamuru Rangareddy Scheme - Telangan IT Minister writes to Centre
The palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, he said, was a ray of hope for the drought-prone areas of Nagarkurnool, mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Rangareddy, and nalgonda districts. He stated that he was writing the letter with utter disappointment regarding the discriminatory actions of the BJP-led Centre against Telangana. The programme was designed to supply water for more than 12.5 lakh acres as well as to meet the drinking water demands of several villages, hyderabad City, and industry.
"This initiative has the power to improve people's lives and lessen the difficulties brought on by water scarcity. mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, and nalgonda districts previously experienced drought and a lack of water. Fluoride problems plagued nalgonda, while a shortage of irrigation infrastructure in mahabubnagar caused a migration problem. The State administration has launched several irrigation projects since the State was founded to solve the problems of water shortage and agricultural growth. The BJP-led Centre, he said, was utterly ignoring Telangana's irrigation projects and offered no help or funding. The PRLIS is one of the state of Telangana's major irrigation projects.
"They make it difficult to obtain approvals and won't give our initiatives national significance. Projects in other States, meanwhile, obtain finance, approvals, and national status. How fair is it that the Upper Bhadra irrigation project in karnataka has received national status from the union government but the PRLIS has not? he questioned.
