No respite from rain in Telangana, Godavari in spate
On saturday, rain fell nonstop in certain regions of telangana for the fifth day in a row, flooding low-lying districts and putting a stop to daily activity. In certain regions of north coastal Andhra, lakes, tanks, and other waterbodies were overflowing as a result of the constant rain. Low-lying regions were submerged due to the flow of the Penganga and Godavari rivers. Godavari basin projects were receiving massive upstream inputs.
In nirmal district's Kadam project, the flooding is still occurring. Compared to a maximum level of 700 feet, the water level has risen to 688.22 feet. 14 project gates have been opened by the authorities, releasing 84,269 cusecs of water. nirmal district's Swarna reservoir was experiencing heavy inflows. Compared to the Full Tank Level of 1,183 feet, the water level has risen to 1,180 feet.
For the fourth day in a row, singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) mines' coal output remained halted. The Kaulasa Nala project in the kamareddy area kept getting a tonne of funding. Compared to the full level of 458 feet, the water level in the project has increased to 456.60 feet. The Sri ram Sagar Project (SRSP) also kept getting a tonne of new money.
The project's water level is currently 1,079.10 feet high, compared to a complete level of 1,091 feet. The project's gates will need to be opened, according to officials, if the present inflows last another two to three days. In the meantime, the Godavari level dropped at bhadrachalam in the district of bhadradri Kothagudem. On saturday morning, the water level plummeted to 39.4 feet.
