Brij Bhushan, Vinod Tomar Granted Bail In Wrestler's Harassment Case
While granting bail, the court imposed specific conditions on the accused. They are prohibited from directly or indirectly influencing the complainants or witnesses, and they are not allowed to leave the country without the court's permission.
During the hearing, the delhi Police lawyer neither opposed nor supported the bail application.
The court proceedings began at 12:30, and after considering all arguments, the verdict was delivered at 4 pm. Earlier on July 18, the court had granted Brij bhushan and Vinod Tomar a two-day interim bail. Brij bhushan was released on a personal bond of Rs 25,000, thanks to the relief provided by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh.
The delhi Police filed a charge sheet against Brij bhushan Singh on june 15, under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the indian Penal Code (IPC).
The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by women wrestlers, and Vinod Tomar was also charged with offences under IPC sections 109, 354, 354A, and 506 (criminal intimidation) for abetting the alleged offences.
