Palamuru-Rangareddy Project - Telangana makes fresh presentation before EAC
As per the National Green Tribunal (NGT) rulings made on december 22, 2022, project irrigation work has been put on hold. With the help of the supreme Court, the State was given permission to move on with just the drinking water portion of the project that was supposed to use 7.15 TMC ft of water.
Only after getting the environmental clearance would it be able to implement the project's irrigation components. The project's administrators are actively seeking approval for Stage II of the project, which is being examined by several Central Water Commission divisions.
The first week of august is most probable when the drinking water component, which has already acquired the essential permissions, will be put into service. The first two stages of the project's ten pumps are prepared for the dry run. Before the dry run, which is planned for the first week of august, a team of irrigation department representatives inspected the pump house at Narlapur. The programme would facilitate the provision of drinking water to more than 1220 communities across six districts in the area.
