Telangana - Nizam college hostellers protest demanding better food

On Saturday, congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao intervened on behalf of the students at Nizam college who were staging a dharna with utensils to demand improved dining options and the reopening of the hostel mess. The former mp visited at the protest site, talked with the college's principal, and then with Sabitha indra Reddy, the education minister, who gave him the assurance that the children will start receiving wholesome meals on august 1.

The hostel mess, according to the students, had been shut down for ten days and their repeated demands for a fix had been ignored. "For more than a week, we had to fend for ourselves. The police who arrived at the demonstration threatened to arrest us for generating a disturbance and taking it to the roadways as we demonstrated today, but the leaders spoke to them and things eventually became more peaceful, according to student ravi Raju.

Over the phone, Rao spoke with the education minister, who, according to Rao, "heard the students' troubles patiently and promised to arrange for the reopening of the canteen and proper meal starting from the next month." party officials promised to make the dining arrangements up until that point.
