With the approval of new Metro rail projects linking various locations in the State capital, the State cabinet has approved a major plan for enhancing transport infrastructure at a cost of Rs 60,000 crore. The hyderabad Metro rail decision was made at the State cabinet meeting, which lasted for more than six hours. Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao stated that the State was optimistic about receiving support from the federal government for the proposed Metro rail extension.

"We shall collect money on our own if the Central help is not forthcoming. In either case, a coalition government will be in power at the federal level by 2024, and BRS would be a key player in that coalition, according to Rama Rao, who also noted that chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao intended to make the city's transit system the finest in the nation. The minister stated that all lines linking hyderabad to routes traveling to other areas of the nation would experience the Metro rail expansion. The government was planning to construct a Metro rail corridor along the Godavarikani route between Jubilee bus Station and Tumkunta. "This will be a double layer project, with one layer dedicated to vehicular movement and the second layer for the Metro," he stated.

Patny-Kandlakoya route

The cabinet has approved the expansion of the Metro from Patny station joining the ORR at Kandlakoya on the adilabad to nagpur line. The State government will pursue the matter with the Centre for land acquisition because this extension affected defense-related areas.

Isnapur to Miyapur

The second corridor that needed to be built connected Isnapur and miyapur, and later it connected miyapur and Lakdikapul. The Metro would be expanded on the warangal line from uppal to Bibi nagar and on the vijayawada route from LB nagar to Pedda Amberpet. Additionally, a Metro line linking uppal and ECIL crossroads would be constructed.

The Metro line would be extended from shamshabad to shadnagar through kothur along the Bengaluru Highway. Additionally, a second line would be added and extended from shamshabad to Kandukur. In order to connect the planned Pharma City more quickly, this was done.

The Metro link from Raidurg to the shamshabad Airport already has its foundation stone set by the Chief Minister. The minister said that the cabinet had approved a plan to build a Metro line that would run the whole 159 km length of the ORR. The minister said that there was no need for land acquisition along the ORR.
