The plan to expand the Mamnoor airport in the warangal district by acquiring 253 acres of additional land for the construction of a terminal building and an expansion of the current runway has been authorized by the State cabinet as of Monday. In june of this year, a survey for purchasing more land for the airport expansion was finished. Land from the Khila warangal Mandal villages of Nakkalapalli, Gadepalli, and Mamnoor, which have been recognized as being ideal for airport development, is required for the airport's expansion.
The warangal District collector recommended a solution where the government would transfer land, now under the control of PV narasimha Rao Veterinary university close to Mamnoor village, to the relevant Tahsildar as compensation for the impacted farmers. In exchange, the AAI would buy and receive the farmers' lands.
