Telangana CM KCR demands Bharat Ratna for Anna Bhau Sathe

On Tuesday, BRS President and chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao urged prime minister Narendra Modi to posthumously award the Bharat Ratna to Maharashtrian social reformer and author Anna Bhau Sathe. Speaking during the poet's birth anniversary festivities in Wategaon, maharashtra, he stated that a nation like russia had honored him by asking him to visit and had held him in high respect for his accomplishments. However, his own india had not recognized his grandeur.

The telangana administration will suggest the Bharat Ratna award for the esteemed social thinker of the past, he assured the people of Maharashtra. "I will personally write to prime minister Narendra Modi and ask him to grant Anna Bhau Sathe the Bharat Ranta. He also demanded that Anna Bhau Sathe be nominated for the Bharat Ratna by maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde. "The letter will be sent to him soon along with the recommendation from telangana State," he stated.


Anna Bhau Sathe, who was formerly known as Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe, was a political activist whose worldview was greatly influenced by his childhood and sense of belonging to the poor groups. Chandrashekhar Rao praised the Matang community, of which Sathe was a member, and stated that it was now time for maharashtra to wake up and appreciate Anna Bhau Sathe's significant contributions to society. He said that his works were the source of wisdom for the entire cosmos and were not intended for any one group or social class.
