On friday, P Sabitha indra Reddy, the minister of education, refuted claims that the State's education budget had been slashed. Instead, she claimed that the State government has raised funding considerably, increasing the budget from Rs 9,518 crore in 2014–15 to Rs 29,611 crore, with a considerable emphasis on human resource development.
According to a study by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), between 2014 and 2020, education will cost a total of Rs 96,000 crore. The minister claimed that Telangana's Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) of 36.2 percent exceeded the country's GER of 27.3 percent in the past nine years as a result of the State government's transformational efforts.

Sabitha indra Reddy responded to a discussion on the education sector in the assembly on friday by stating that the development of excellent education from KG to PG through Gurukuls has been a key step in empowering kids who are from economically challenged backgrounds. With the establishment of Mana Ooru-Mana Badi, English-medium, Gurukuls, Model schools, and Kasturba schools, the educational system has been strengthened even more. There are now 1,517 Gurukuls instead of the previous 682, which can house an astounding 7.44 lakh students, up from just 1.94 lakh when the State was formed.
From Rs 973 crore in 2014 to Rs 4,049 crore in 2023, the amount of money allocated to Gurukuls has significantly increased. In addition, there are now 495 Kasturba gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), serving the educational requirements of more than 8.73 lakh kids enrolled in Gurukuls, KGBVs, and model schools.
Additionally, the State provided scholarships for disadvantaged students to study abroad, awarding 5,653 individuals with over Rs 1,000 crore at a cost of Rs 20 lakh apiece. Additionally, many levels of students have received scholarships and fee reimbursements, providing a significant amount of support for their academic endeavours.
