To avoid the harassment of auto and taxi drivers and owners by app-based transport service providers and to provide better service to people at a low price, it has been decided to start an app-based auto and taxi service within Bangalore city. App-based transport service providers like ola and uber are exploiting auto and taxi drivers. Besides, they are extorting more money from passengers. Various organizations related to the transport sector had appealed to the transport department to provide compensation for this. This issue was also raised in a meeting of transport organizations chaired by Transport minister Ramalingareddy last week. For that, the transport department itself developed an app and thought about providing transport services in Bangalore. Now it is being implemented and soon the app development organization is being identified and made responsible. In this regard, minister Ramalingareddy held a meeting with the officials of the Transport Department at the BMTC headquarters on friday and had a comprehensive discussion about the development of the app, its management, and the help it will bring to auto and taxi drivers. The minister has also instructed the officials that the app should be ready and put into service by the end of this year.
In the interests of drivers and passengers: The app will be prepared on the model of ola and uber as planned by the transport department. Then taxi and cab drivers have to register for that app. After the app is launched, passengers can book an auto or taxi through the app on their mobile. auto or cab drivers near that passenger will be messaged about it and they can serve the passenger accordingly.
