DK Shivakumar, who is also Bangalore Urban Development minister, organized a breakfast meeting of Bangalore Ministers and MLAs at Kumarakrup Guest house on tuesday morning.
Ministers KJ George, Jameer Ahmed, Bairathi Suresh, Ramalingareddy, Dinesh Gundurao, MLAs Rizwan Arshad, Sarath Bachegowda and others were present in the meeting. The main topics discussed in the meeting were BBMP elections, Brand Bangalore construction, Bangalore road infrastructure development, construction of tunnel roads at various places, 150 km. Discussions were held on various issues including the suggestions received from the public regarding the construction of long tunnel road, flyovers, discussion with the central government in this regard, preparation of master plan. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, deputy chief minister D.K. Shivakumar, the meeting was called to discuss how to develop the road infrastructure of Bangalore city. The government had publicly invited suggestions on the issue. More than 70,000 suggestions have been received from school children to senior citizens. He said that we have assigned some organizations to classify it.
Central advice to prepare a plan for urban road development: The issue of road infrastructure in the city was also discussed in a meeting with the Union Land Transport Minister. Tumkur, Bellary, Hosur, mysore highways have been brought and connected to Bangalore city from all four directions. DK Sivakumar said that the central government should also pay attention to implement projects to reduce the heavy vehicular traffic that is increasing in the city. Accordingly, there are plans for some parts to reduce traffic congestion, while plans are yet to be done for some parts. So the central government has said to prepare a plan for all sides. They are 150 km in the city. Advised for construction of tunnel road, construction of fly overs. We have also given some suggestions. He suggested to prepare a master plan in this regard. The tunnel road should have a minimum capacity of two vehicles. We have invited Glober Tender to study and report on this. Some organizations are coming forward to report. He informed that all these have been discussed with the city minister and MLAs and their opinions have been collected.
