Indian expat worker wins AED 1 million in Mahzooz lucky draw in Dubai
One of the largest lotteries, worth one million AED (Arab Emirates Dirhams), was won by an indian employee. According to a press announcement from the lottery's organizers, another Pakistani expat employee won 50,000 Dirhams in gold coins on Thursday. The award was won in the guaranteed raffle draw by an indian expat named Venkata, according to the press announcement. In addition, he had also won the third prize of ED 250 in the 140th draws after matching three of five numbers.
The winner looks to be from one of the telugu States based on his name, Venkata, but the lottery organizers have not disclosed his full identity beyond that. Muhammad was named as the champion from Pakistan. As of august 10, one dirham is worth Rs 22.55 in indian rupees.
Venkata has been in the uae for the past 13 years and works as a porter in one of the country's well-known grocery brands.
