Mayor of Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD) Dr. Shaili Oberoi, who was seen in action mode during her last short
term, has continued in her second term as well. She is continuously engaged in trying to make it positively effective by
taking stock of the works of the corporation and the measures taken for redressal of public problems. In this episode, a
mega cleaning campaign has been started with the goal of making the capital delhi 'garbage free Delhi'.
Mayor gave message by sweeping
This mega cleanliness drive has been named 'Ab delhi Saaf Hogi'. Under this campaign, to make delhi clean and
garbage free, massive cleaning has been started in all the wards in the Municipal Corporation. To take stock of which
Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi visited Ward-123, Dabri Ward-117 and Sagarpur Ward-118 of Najafgarh. During this, he
inspected the cleanliness done in the roads and parks. At the same time, he also gave the message of cleanliness to the
people by sweeping the streets under this mega cleaning campaign along with the local councilor and the regional MLA.
On this occasion, the Mayor said that "Municipal Corporation of delhi has started a mega cleanliness drive 'Ab Delhi
Saaf Hogi' for the next few weeks. We have set a goal of 'Garbage Free Delhi'. Our aim is to clean the interior and
exterior of each ward. The outer roads have to be rid of garbage."
Dark spots will be illuminated
On the other hand, taking cognizance of the complaints of dark spots by the people and the security threat arising
because of that, he said that soon street lights will be installed on all the major roads and specific dark spots of the
ward. Referring to the cooperation received from the delhi government, the Mayor said that, be it MLAs of delhi or
MCD councillors, we all will work together as a team at the grassroots level to make the 10 guarantees of delhi CM
Arvind kejriwal a reality.
