Inducting Opposition Leaders into Congress in Karnataka..?
Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, the state president of the congress, said on wednesday that several political workers are willing to join the party, and a decision will be made with the party's interest in mind, with the goal of increasing its vote share in the lok sabha elections, in mind amid reports that the congress is considering inducting leaders from other parties. Out of 28 lok sabha seats in Karnataka, the congress only managed to win one in the last elections. The goal is to win 20 seats this time, according to party leaders. According to Shivakumar, the local congress leadership has been given the go-ahead to reach any kind of settlement locally that would be advantageous to the party, depending on the circumstances."The congress party's top goal is the upcoming parliamentary elections. Our party members have been instructed not to lose their cool or let personal animosities stand in the way of local understanding. They have been urged to enhance their vote percentage. In answer to a query, Shivakumar said, "We have given our local leaders the discretion to make the call in light of the local circumstances.Speaking to reporters in this location, he remarked, "The party might not be present (in some places) in some circumstances. We must make sure the party is powerful there in such a case. Leave the main leaders alone; a lot of members from other parties have come to join us. In such a circumstance, we will act in the party's best interests. A portion of the media has reported that a few opposition leaders and MLAs will re-join the party ahead of the lok sabha elections, particularly the bjp, which earlier left the congress and caused the then-Congress-JD(S) coalition government to fall. The Congress-JD(S) coalition's shaky 2018 government came to an end after 17 lawmakers withdrew their support. They left the party and joined the bjp, which helped it regain power. The bjp won 12 out of the 15 seats in the byelections that were held later in 2019, as the majority of these defectors ran again and won. In the bjp government, the majority of them became ministers.
