Aryan Sharma, a basketball player for Telangana, is eager to represent india in the forthcoming South Asian basketball Association (SABA) qualifications, which will begin in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on august 27. The top two teams from the competition will represent South Asia in the under-16 FIBA Asia Cup, which starts on september 17 and will be contested in Qatar.
The 16-year-old explained his objectives before leaving for the qualifiers: "The goal is to get a medal and qualify for the Asian championship and play well there to qualify for the next World Championship." He said, "Also, my personal objective is to make the Asian championship All-Star squad, which consists of the top five players from each team competing in the continental competition.
Aryan, who is from Hi-Tech City, didn't initially pick basketball. His initial interest was cricket, and he played fast bowling for the ranga reddy district squad. But his time in the game was cut short by a back ailment. But fate had other ideas. He played basketball with his pals from the society when the Covid-19 epidemic started to fade. The coach there advised him to attend Gamepoint at Hitech for rigorous coaching. A coach in our culture named srinivas advised me to play basketball seriously. I thus joined Gamepoint in march of last year," he said.
Later, he relocated to Keystone basketball Academy, where he received instruction from PS Santosh, the men's team coach for India. The gifted child showed quick progress and was named to the State squad for the youth Nationals in indore in 2022. He was chosen during the selection trials in July of this year, and after a demanding training camp, under the watchful eye of head coach ram Kumar, a recipient of the Dhyan Chand award, he made it to the 12-person indian core squad.

He remarked of his preparations: "The camp's fitness programme has been a huge assistance. My vertical leaps and sprinting prowess have significantly improved thanks to the meticulous attention given by our physiotherapist Ranjan Sharma sir. The big forward wants to play basketball in europe and has aspirations of playing in the NBA in the future. I want to play for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, therefore my goal is to go into european basketball and, if feasible, the NBA, he said. Intriguingly, one of the greatest players to ever wear the number 8 was icon Kobe Bryant, who spent his whole career with the Los Angeles Lakers and who aryan disparages. He will wear it for Team india in the forthcoming SABA qualifications.
