Anti-incumbency May Hurt BRS in Undivided Rangareddy
The BRS won all five seats in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district in 2018, losing just one of the four seats in Vikarabad and two of the five seats in Rangareddy. Within six months following the elections, Sabitha indra Reddy (Maheshwaram), Devireddy Sudheer reddy (LB Nagar), and "Pilot" rohith reddy (Tandur), the three congress leaders who defeated the BRS, merged with it.
By naming its candidates in advance, the BRS attempted to get the upper hand, but the action provoked dissension within its ranks, particularly in Maheshwaram, between groups led by minister Sabitha indra Reddy and ex-MLA Teegala krishna Reddy. Due to the conflict between MLC Patnam Mahender reddy and mla rohith reddy, who was sworn in as a minister on the understanding that he would not insist on a ticket, tandur is also in a state of upheaval. uppal is in difficulty since the BRS leadership chose Bandari Laxma reddy, a former congress defection candidate, above sitting mla Bethi Subhash reddy and former ghmc mayor Bonthu Rammohan.
The party kept mla d. Sudheer reddy in LB nagar when he switched from the congress to the BRS. M. ram mohan Goud, a leader in the BRS who lost to Sudheer reddy in 2018, is considering to join the bjp or the congress as a result. Goud met with his supporters on tuesday to discuss his plan of action moving forward. In Medchal, the party chose to support minister Ch malla reddy rather than former mla M. Sudheer reddy, which split the party cadre.
MLA madhavaram krishna Rao, who won the seat again in Kukatpally, is seeing opposition from a number of contenders. A few BRS MLAs were elected in 2018 with a slim margin, and the party is concerned about their chances of reelection in the 2019 assembly elections owing to anti-incumbency.
Manchireddy Kishan reddy, a BRS mla, won Ibrahimpatnam by 376 votes, Vikarabad by 3,092 votes, and tandur by 2,875 votes, respectively. Despite this, the party has kept the MLAs in office despite requests to replace them from local BRS officials.
