Why is Nitish a strong contender for the post of coordinator?
This is not the first time Nitish is making such a statement regarding a post. Nitish has become the Chief Minister
twice before by saying that he does not want anything. In the midst of the ongoing dispute over the position of
coordinator of the opposition alliance india, nitish kumar has reaffirmed his prior statement. Nitish Kumar
stated to reporters in patna that neither we want to become anything nor do we want anything. We are only
interested in moving everyone along. This statement has been made twice in the past two days by Nitish Kumar.
nitish kumar has done the work of bringing together 12 parties in the india alliance. SP, Trinamool and Aam
Aadmi party are prominent in these parties. These parties have a strong mass base at the regional level.
In bihar, nitish kumar has run the government in alliance with 9 parties in the last 25 years. These include
national parties like BJP, congress and regional parties like RJD, LJP. At present, despite having fewer seats,
Nitish remains the chief minister with the alliance.
Despite being with BJP, Nitish Kumar's image has remained secular. Nitish has been repeatedly reiterating his
resolve not to compromise on his 3Cs (corruption, crime and communalism).
nitish kumar has been the chief minister of bihar for almost 16 years and has also been a minister in the Atal
Bihari Vajpayee government at the Center, but till now he has not been personally accused of any corruption. The
rest of the leaders of the india coalition are facing allegations of corruption.
