Telangana Hyderabad Saidani Ma tomb restoration by October
By the end of this October, all preservation-related work on Maqbara Saidani Ma Saheba, a well-known historical site that was established by wealthy noble Nawab Abdul Haq Diler Jung in honour of his mother Saidani-Ma next to Tank Bund, would be finished.
Through a joint effort between the hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Aga Khan Trust for culture (AKTC), which has been actively involved in restoring several important historical precincts in hyderabad, the conservation work related to the tomb, opposite Sailing Club on Tank Bund, has been taken up on a war footing for the past 12 months.

Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Ratish Nanda, CEO of AKTC, and representatives from hmda visited the Saidani-Ma tombs on monday to assess the situation. "We looked through the restoration projects hmda and AKTC are working on. The entire project is progressing well, and it should be finished by early October, including the unique lighting, according to Arvind Kumar.
The Special Chief Secretary had earlier this year said that hmda will work with the Aga Khan Trust to complete the project to rehabilitate the Saidani-Ma mausoleum. Due to years of neglect, the Saidani Ma tomb was in poor shape. The MA&UD wing chose to take up the conservation of the mausoleum through hmda and AKT after the restoration of the Bansilalpet step well and the conservation work at Murgi Chowk and Sardar Mahal were successful.
