Kannada learning is compulsory in madrasas..!?

Housing and Minority Welfare minister Jameer ahmed khan has directed the authorities to teach science and mathematics subjects in addition to teaching kannada and english language subjects to students in madrasas like other schools in the state.

While reviewing the progress of minority welfare department programs at the city's Directorate of Minorities Welfare Hall on Monday, he said that kannada must be taught compulsorily in madrasas. He directed the officials of the department that madrasa students should not be deprived of learning other languages including english and core subjects such as science and mathematics.


In this regard, five thousand children of 100 madrasas out of 1265 madrasas registered with the State Waqf Board have started learning practically from this year itself. He told the officials to prepare a proposal to start it in all madrasas from next year. 20 lakhs amount of incentive money for studying abroad under the Directorate of Minorities. 30 lakhs from Rs.2 lakhs and Rs. The minister instructed the officials in the meeting to increase the incentive to four lakhs.


At the same time, the minister released the handbook of various subjects including science and mathematics and the handbook of the Directorate's schemes prepared to improve the learning standards of one lakh students of classes 9, 10 and 12 of morarji desai Residential school and college and Maulana azad Model Schools under the Directorate of Minority Welfare. He said that there is an opportunity to get information. Department Secretary Manoj Jain, Directorate director Jilani Mokashi, Minority Development Corporation Managing director Mohammad Nazir and Waqf Board Executive Khan Farwaz were present in the meeting. At the same time, the minister instructed the officials to review and report on the development of minority colonies undertaken by the Directorate of Minorities in the last two years under the jurisdiction of all metropolitan corporations and local bodies of the state.
