Kannada learning is compulsory in madrasas..!?
Housing and Minority Welfare minister Jameer ahmed khan has directed the authorities to teach science and mathematics subjects in addition to teaching kannada and english language subjects to students in madrasas like other schools in the state.While reviewing the progress of minority welfare department programs at the city's Directorate of Minorities Welfare Hall on Monday, he said that kannada must be taught compulsorily in madrasas. He directed the officials of the department that madrasa students should not be deprived of learning other languages including english and core subjects such as science and mathematics.
In this regard, five thousand children of 100 madrasas out of 1265 madrasas registered with the State Waqf Board have started learning practically from this year itself.
