Tamilnadu farmers provided with required amount of seeds and fertilizers under Kurvai Package Scheme
As per report tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin has ordered to provide minimum support price for paddy along with incentive amount of tamilnadu government for the welfare of tamil Nadu farmers.Under the Union Government's Decentralized Rice Procurement Scheme, the tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Trading Corporation has been acting as an agent of the Union government since the Kharif season of 2002-2003 and has been purchasing rice under the Union Government's standards. During the last 2022-2023 Caribbean procurement season, up to 21.08.2023, 3526 direct paddy procurement stations were opened and 43,84,226 metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 5,20,503 farmers and a sale amount of Rs.9,414.58 crore was provided. This year too, the state government has decided to open direct paddy procurement stations in the 2023-2024 season and procure paddy from the farmers under the Decentralized Paddy Procurement Scheme of the Union Government.
Furthermore as the mettur dam has been opened on 12.06.2023 this year and farmers have been provided with required amount of seeds and fertilizers under Kurvai Package Scheme, in the interests of the farmers, as the tamil Nadu chief minister has requested the Union government to purchase paddy for the Carib 2023-2024 season from 1st september -Approved to carry out purchase of paddy for 2024 season from 1st September.
Moreover in this case, in order to increase the production of paddy, with the aim of alleviating the distress of the farmers and motivating them further, K.M.S. For the procurement season 2023-2024, an additional incentive of Rs.82/- per quintal of normal paddy and Rs.107/- per quintal of fine paddy has been issued from the funds of the government of tamil Nadu. chief minister Stalin has ordered to pay Rs.2,310/- per quintal of light paddy to farmers who sell paddy at direct paddy procurement stations. Moreover, tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin has also ordered to provide this new minimum resource price and the incentive amount of the state government from september 1.
