Telangana's administration wants to take agriculture to the level of an industry and make it competitive on a global scale, according to Agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy. He underlined the need to promote agriculture as a lucrative career for future generations by fostering substantial mechanisation in a progressive environment.
A government group headed by Niranjan reddy is visiting the united states for a research tour to look at contemporary farming methods. On the first day, the minister met with representatives from Iowa State University, the Lieutenant governor of Iowa, the Secretary of Agriculture, and Long view Farm, a large agricultural facility in Iowa.
When comparing the US and indian agricultural sectors, Niranjan reddy noted that the US farm industry has undergone substantial mechanisation because of high demand and a lack of workers. He emphasised how the US has different government incentives and fewer farmers who rely on aid from the government as a result of rising corporatization.
The minister proposed using farmer cooperatives to make mechanisation advantages available to telangana farmers, the majority of whom had modest landholdings. He emphasised the power of cooperative forces in outperforming corporate enterprises by pointing to successful examples from telangana dairy farmers and sugarcane farmers in Maharashtra.
Niranjan reddy suggested debates on liberalising agriculture for available machinery rental in communities while taking into account the function of mechanisation. He said that telangana is aggressively pursuing widespread mechanisation. The delegation also went to the Farm Progress Show, the biggest agricultural trade show in the world, which was held in Illinois. telangana farmers are to be made aware of international developments in agricultural science and technology.
Niranjan reddy advocated for collaboration between telangana and Iowa State in the US after his meeting with Iowa Lieutenant governor Adam Gregg earlier on Tuesday. The two States are comparable in a number of ways, including their emphasis on the production of foodgrains, poultry, and meat. He gave a presentation during the gathering outlining the advancements telangana has made over the past nine years, notably in the agricultural and related fields.
