The commotion around applying for tickets to run in the assembly elections has died down, but the congress and those vying for tickets are now concerned about dissension among party officials due to the numerous applications that have been submitted for various seats. Given the circumstances, the party leadership is growing concerned about rifts arising between leaders and their potential effects on the party's chances in the elections. This problem is not limited to Greater Hyderabad; it is present throughout districts as well.
For instance, Sivasena reddy, state president of the youth congress, and G chinna Reddy, chairman of the tpcc Disciplinary Committee, both submitted applications to run for office from the wanaparthy seat. Former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah and Kommuri Pratap reddy have submitted petitions for the Jangaon seat. Both Malreddy ranga reddy and former mp Madhu Yaskhi Goud have submitted applications for the LB nagar seat.
According to a senior leader, in such a case, the candidate who is unsuccessful in receiving the ticket would not actively participate in party activities, which might ultimately have a negative effect on the performance of the party. The leader said that the party leadership was now much more concerned about the dissidence issue because disagreements among party officials were a daily occurrence.
It's interesting to see how prevalent this tendency is in Greater Hyderabad's various constituencies. P Vishnuvardhan reddy, the son of former CLP leader P Janardhan reddy, submitted an application for the jubilee hills seat. Mohd. Azharuddin, a former captain of the indian cricket team, has also submitted an application for the same constituency.
The son of former mla Marri Shashidhar reddy, who joined the BJP, Marri Aditya reddy, also intends to run from the Sanathnagar constituency. Kota Neelima, the general secretary of the tpcc, also submitted an application for Sanathnagar. The Khairatabad constituency is the same. The daughter of former CLP leader P Janardhan reddy, corporator P Vijaya reddy, is up against tpcc vice president Vinod reddy and Khairatabad DCC president Rohin reddy for a ticket to run from Khairatabad.
Currently, ticket applicants are crossing their fingers and worrying about cadre support. Despite the fact that each leader asserts to have the complete support of the party cadre, it is unclear how the cadre—and subsequently the electorate—will vote when there are several contenders for the same position.
