Under the leadership of farmer leader KS Nanjundegowda and committee president Ballenahalli Krishnagowda, farmers and small children protested on the banks of kaveri river near Srirangapatna Snanaghatta holding name cards and holding copies of slogans saying 'Our water is our Kaveri'.
The Cauvery basin receives less rainfall. The dam is not filled with water. Water is not being supplied to crops that have already grown. He also warned that drinking water will also start to deteriorate. We should also save the Cauvery water that our grandfathers and fathers gave to them. Young children participated in the protest holding placards saying that the government should protect the interests of our state first. Everyone in the state, including Bengaluru and mysore, who are drinking Cauvery water, asked the children to protect the water by telling the elders that the water of our ancestors should save water for us. Later, they took out a protest march to the taluk office and condemned the action of the government. Hundreds of farmers and children from different villages participated.

He demanded that the authority should look at the physical condition of the reservoirs in our state and order the release of water.
The water level in KRS Dam which was already 113 feet has fallen to 100 feet. Our state now has 28 MPs, 11 rajya sabha members and four Union Ministers. He demanded that the central government and the Cauvery Water Management Authority should immediately confirm the water level of the reservoirs of our state and fight to prevent the release of water.
