Cloud seeding in Gadag district too: Minister H.K. Patil..!?

After starting cloud seeding in Haveri district, cloud seeding will be done in Gadag district too, minister H.K. Patil said. The state has lacked rain this year and a drought situation has developed. However, cloud seeding has been done in Haveri district to save a couple of half-grown and dry crops that have already been sown. Law minister H.K. said that cloud seeding will be done in Gadag district as well. Patil has given information.


Monsoon rains have started late in the state. In between, it rained well in the month of July. Therefore, the farmers completed the sowing work and the rains came again in the month of August, just as the crops were ripening. From this information is available that 134 taluks are drought affected areas in the state. However, Prakash Koliwada, mla of Ranebennur Constituency of Haveri district, has initiated the cloud seeding operation to bring rain following scientific measures to protect the half-grown crops. Right after Ranebennur mla Prakash Koliwada initiated cloud seeding in Haveri district, there was thought of cloud seeding in Gadag district as well. Patil said. Speaking to the media in Gadag city, Patil said, "We have asked the district Collector for permission to do cloud seeding in Gadag district. I have also spoken to the cloud seeding agency. It rained yesterday. Let's see a couple of days today and tomorrow. He said that if there is a lack of rain, we will do cloud seeding.



Talking about chief minister Siddaramaiah saying that cloud seeding has not been successful in the state, HK Patil said cloud seeding is a science. Cloud seeding was done for 85 days in 2003 when I was the Irrigation Minister. At this time, there was 22 percent rainfall for 60 days. In 2017-18 too, paddy sowing was done in different parts of the state. All of them have been successful experiments. He said that we need to convince more and more about experiment and science. Drive for cloud seeding from Hubli: In view of cloud seeding in Haveri district, Law minister H.K. Patila had given the drive on Monday. During this time HK Patil was supported by many leaders including Deputy Speaker Rudrappa Lamani and mla UB Bankara. The cloud has been sown by the PKK organization run by mla Prakash Koliwada. Cloud seeding will be done free of charge for the farmers of Haveri district for three days till Wednesday.
