Telangana rains - Power Dept urges people to stay away from electricity lines
Following nearly two days of nonstop rain, the telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) on tuesday cautioned residents against approaching power wires. G Raghuma Reddy, the chairman and managing director of TSSPDCL, evaluated the power supply distribution during an audio conference and gave the go-ahead for the officials to guarantee that all consumers receive an uninterrupted power supply and to restore electricity where a breakdown has occurred.
He also urged the general public and electrical users to exercise prudence during the rainy season. "People are hereby advised against standing close to live wires, power lines, or transformers in the event of inclement weather. Additionally, livestock and animals should not be near electrical equipment, the expert said. Additionally, it was prohibited to drive or walk over any electric cables that were lying on the ground or in the water.
The CMD advised people to call the local electrical personnel if they saw any broken or cracked wires. Six fatalities have been reported thus far in various rain-related accidents. Lightning struck in the district of Jayashankar Bhupalapally, killing three people, including two ladies. In the districts of sangareddy and Wanaparthy, three other people drowned.
