The indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on september 9 shared an image of Chandrayaan-3 lander

vikram taken by the Dual-Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR) instrument mounted on the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter.

This image was taken on 6 september 2023. In the picture, the surdata-face of the moon is visible in blue, green and dark black

colors. At the same time, yellow colored light is visible in the picture, which is vikram Lander. At present, it is night on the

South Pole of the moon and Chandrayaan-3 is in sleep mode.

Regarding the spacecraft that reached the moon on august 23, the space agency had said that vikram Lander has been set

in sleep mode and its payloads have been switched off. At the same time, its battery is fully charged. However, its receiver

has been kept operational. Hopefully he will start his next assignment with success.


ISRO’s hop experiment

Earlier on september 4, isro had informed that Chandrayaan-3's vikram lander had successfully completed a hop

experiment two days after the experiment was aborted on the lunar surdata-face. "It (Vikram) started the engine, lifted itself up

about 40 cm as expected and landed safely at a distance of 30-40 cm, the space agency said.

Chandrayaan-2 orbiter had taken a picture earlier also

Earlier also on 25 august 2023, Chandrayaan-2 had taken the picture of Chandrayaan-3. In this picture, the lander was

zoomed and shown in the inset. This picture was a combination of two pictures. In one of its images the space was shown

empty, while in the other picture the lander was visible on the surdata-face of the moon.
