Heavy Rains Lash Hyderabad and will Continue - But NO Holidays in Telangana
The most rainfall was reported in golconda and Musheerabad at 43 mm, with Saroornagar coming in second at 40 mm. The PVNR Motorway, neighbouring metro rail viaducts, flyovers, petrol stations, bus stops, roadside booths and stores all served as shelter for almost everyone trapped in the downpour. Many areas were severely flooded, making it difficult for drivers to navigate the pit-filled roadways. Their troubles were made worse by the strong water flows.
Dilsukhnagar, Kukatpally, Malakpet, LB Nagar, Ameerpet, Kothapet, Rajendranagar, Chandanagar, and the Old City all saw lightning strikes. Teams from the emergency response organization were working to remove standing water at a number of locations, including Malakpet, Manikonda, Ibrahimnagh, Attapur, Shaikpet, Bahadurpura, Jiyaguda, Erragadda, Moosarambagh and other low-lying districts.
At jubilee hills checkpoint, nagarjuna Circle, Gachibowli Circle, Biodiversity and IKEA intersections, Raidurgam, Shaikpet, Banjara Hills, Mehdipatnam, Masab Tank, Tank Bund, Koti, Abids, MJ Market, Chikkadpally, rtc crossroads, Musheerabad, and Mettuguda, water-logging had a negative impact on traffic movement.
