Telangana IT Minister KTR accuses BJP of playing ‘cheap political stunts’ to postpone state elections
The simultaneous election idea and the decision to rename india as Bharat, in his opinion, were all clumsy attempts to draw attention away from more important matters like the Centre's broken pledges and impending electoral setbacks. He referred to the BJP's term as a "disaster" for india and stated that the party's apparent haste to postpone the State elections was an indication of its fear of defeat in the elections in the five States, which might affect its performance in the 2024 national elections.
Rama Rao said that if elections were postponed, it would give his party the chance to finish any unfinished business before confronting voters. He was convinced, though, that when the time came, people would judge the government's overall record rather than the BJP's distracting strategies.
KT Rama Rao also criticised the Modi administration for failing to fulfil important obligations pertaining to housing, clean water, and jobs during an informal media discussion on tuesday here. The bjp was compelled to turn to non-issues in an effort to deflect criticism away from these broken pledges. Given the BJP's significant numerical advantage, he continued, "no political party could obstruct it in parliament if the bjp government was genuinely interested in implementing simultaneous elections across the nation." He also claimed that the congress and bjp were working together against the BRS.
He cited specific examples of this cooperation, including rahul gandhi missing gujarat during his Bharat Jodo yatra and the selective examination of BRS members by Central authorities while no congress politician was being investigated for similar allegations. Additionally, he questioned the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, when Madhu Yashki Goud and prabhakar GOUD' target='_blank' title='ponnam prabhakar-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">ponnam prabhakar of the congress lost their deposits in the respective constituencies of nizamabad and karimnagar despite having sizable support bases.
Rama Rao stated that the current events in andhra pradesh did not affect the BRS and that he would not comment on them. He claimed that as a national party, the BRS will focus more on tackling issues of national importance that impact the entire country's population than specific instances.
