After Kaleshwaram, it will be yet another significant event in Telangana's irrigation history. The scene is now ready for the magical moment of rising water. wednesday saw the successful impounding to the target level of the first surge pool of the palamuru Ranga reddy Lift Scheme. In order to complete the crucial wet run of the mega pump house (145 MW X9) at Narlapur, the second step of impounding will be finished by Thursday. The final inspection procedure has involved both Transco and irrigation experts.
The twin tunnel network was used to direct drawls from the srisailam project's backwaters to the surge pool. The surge pool, which has a capacity of 0.5 tmc, needs to be impounded twice. By wednesday morning, the first phase had been finished by filling it to a height of 30 metres. After the initial round of filling, the 74-meter-high subsurdata-face surge pool had accumulated roughly 0.25 tmc. The impounding procedure will be carried out piecemeal while periodically monitoring for leaks and flaws. According to authorities, the second stage of the impounding procedure would be finished in 48 hours.
Right after the Stage One pump house's dry run was finished, the preparation exercise began. The irrigation department's senior brass, including engineer in Chief C muralidhar and Project Chief engineer M A Hameed Khan, who are all camped at the project, are keeping an eye on the progress. The Anjanagiri reservoir and its associated facilities, which have a gross storage facility of 8.4 tmc, will be filled by the mammoth pumps, which will raise water to a height of 104 metres.

According to Chief engineer MA Hameed Khan, the project's upcoming upward flow of water would usher in a new age in the state's southern regions. Under the direction of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, it would be the climax of a massive undertaking by the irrigation department. The project's surge pools are a huge success. They are constructed quickly in an effort to fulfil the region's drinking water demands. The requirements for acquiring the required permissions have been followed by the government. On september 16, the chief minister will formally launch the project by turning on the engine at the first pump house.
