Telangana IT Minister KTR pitches for life sciences technology corridor between Hyderabad, Bengaluru
Despite the fact that hyderabad and Bengaluru compete in distinct industries, he claimed that he enjoyed both cities equally. Rama Rao remarked, "We have it in us to work together, support one another in our endeavors, and advance together for the welfare of India.
He said that while politics was not the best field to be in for dealing with the demands and challenges data-faced on a daily basis, a lot was being done and that in telangana alone, the life sciences sector had grown by 23% over the past two years, outpacing the national average of 14%. Since the State's founding, 500,000 jobs have been generated, and by 2030, it was hoped to further develop this ecosystem and make hyderabad a $250 billion industry.
Syngene started off small in 2020, with a 52,000 square foot facility and 100 scientists, but has since expanded four times to an astonishing 2 lakh square feet, with more than 900 scientists working there. This demonstrated Hyderabad's accessibility to tremendous talent, he claimed.
The experts at Syngene in hyderabad are instrumental in creating and synthesising novel chemical compounds that have the potential to develop into the next generation of life-saving pharmaceuticals. The minister stated that their work has an international influence on healthcare, and we are pleased that it was taking place in Hyderabad.
Through businesses like Syngene and many others that have made the city their R&D centre, hyderabad supports more than 1000 innovators worldwide. According to the minister, telangana is home to almost 90% of the staff at Syngene's hyderabad location. According to him, chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has consistently advised the industries department to look after current investors since they will serve as the State's largest brand advocates and champions.
Rama Rao added, "I also appeal to kiran Mazumdar-Shaw to consider hyderabad for the expansion of Biocon Biologics and Immuneel," noting that six investments in regenerative medicine, cell and gene therapy, etc. had been made in the past three months.
According to him, telangana has approved 24,000 applications for the TS-Ipass program over the past eight years, which has the potential to generate more than 2.4 million direct jobs and 50 billion dollars in investment.
"Everything that was accomplished was done without holding a single investment conference. We just concentrated on finishing the project and depended on our current investors, according to Rama Rao. The minister emphadata-sized the importance of investing in education and skill development and requested academic cooperation between the Biocon Group and the State government since a life sciences institution would soon be established.
