On Tuesday, september 19, the telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) declared that it would soon operate 50 'Green Metro Luxury' completely air-conditioned electric buses on Hyderabad's roads. On september 20, Wednesday, 25 of these buses will begin service as part of the plan, according to the transport organization. State Transport minister Puvvada ajay Kumar will introduce the first 25 buses at Gachibowli Stadium. According to TSRTC, the second group of buses will begin operating in November, and "buses are not only environmentally friendly and emit zero air pollutants, but also will provide an improved, comfortable experience to the commuters."
A "Green Metro Luxury" bus with a 35-seat capacity can go 225 kilometers on a single charge and requires 3–4 hours to reach full charge, according to the statement. The TSRTC claims that these 12-meter-long buses also include a battery backup and two security cameras, one in the cabin and one in the saloon (with a recorded backup of one month). Additionally installed for commuter comfort are charging ports and reading lamps.
"With the safety of commuters in mind, a car tracking system and a panic button are also made available. The bus has reverse parking assistance cameras fitted for this purpose. Both the front and the back of the bus are equipped with LED boards that display the starting point and the destination. To identify and stop fire mishaps, a fire Detection Suppression System (FDSS) has also been installed. To communicate information to travelers, a public speaker system is made available, according to TSRTC.
