The telangana State Public service Commission (TSPSC) had its Group-1 preliminary examination on june 11 of this year. On Saturday, the telangana High court ordered that it be annulled and rescheduled. The identical exam has been postponed twice before. The TSPSC has chosen to appeal the ruling to the supreme court in the interim.
Three applicants who were supported by the National students Union of india (NSUI) submitted a petition alleging serious irregularities in the way the test was administered, beginning with the absence of biometric attendance tracking. They claimed that the OMR exam sheets were not pre-printed and did not include the candidates' photos or hall ticket numbers. A total of 2.32 lakh applicants for government jobs took the exam held to fill 503 Group-1 positions. The test was initially administered on october 16, 2022, however it was cancelled in march 2023 as a result of reliable leads discovered by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into claims of paper leakage.
