67 cases of theft reported during Ganesh immersion in Telangana Hyderabad
Despite a telangana high court prohibition, thousands of plaster of paris idols were submerged in Hussainsagar and other lakes. The petitioner Mamidi venu Madhav, whose argument the court had accepted, was unavailable for comment on Thursday. If he notices any instances of the order being broken, he is free to approach the court.
While hearing a petition filed by the telangana Ganesh Murti Kalakar Welfare Association, Dhoolpet, and eight other parties challenging Clause 2.0 of the revised guidelines issued by the central pollution control board (CPCB), New Delhi, the high court prohibited the immersion of PoP idols in bodies of water. In compliance with Central PCB regulations, the telangana high court ordered the government and ghmc to draught a circular by march 31, 2022, outlawing the production and sale of PoP Ganesh. However, neither the civic organisation nor the government followed the directives.
