Cop who made Cheap comment on Telangana girl Jaahnavi Kandula is taken off Patrol duty
A Seattle police officer and union official who is being investigated for laughing and making crude comments about the death of an indian lady who was hit by a police SUV has been removed from duty, according to authorities. Traffic Officer Daniel Auderer "has been administratively reassigned to a non-operational position," the Seattle police Department said on Thursday, according to The Seattle Times. The news of the relocation comes a week after a police watchdog organisation demanded that Auderer be placed on administrative leave without pay. When Auderer was reassigned and relieved of his traffic job wasn't immediately known.

The call came in the hours following the fatal police SUV collision that killed 23-year-old student Jaahnavi Kandula on Jan. 23 as she crossed a roadway while being hit by another officer, Kevin Dave.
Dave was travelling to a drug overdose call while travelling at 74 mph (119 kph) in a 25 mph (40 kph) zone. According to a detective's investigation, he began to brake less than a second before striking Kandula. According to the study, Dave was travelling at a speed of 63 mph (101 kph) when he struck the lady. This meant that neither Kandula nor Dave had enough time to "detect, address, and avoid a hazard that presented itself."
