K annamalai, the president of the tamil Nadu bjp, has stirred up controversy once more by berating a female reporter who had questioned him. annamalai urged a female reporter to come over and stand next to him so that everyone on tv would know who asked the question about whether he would stay with the bjp if he weren't the state unit president.

The female reporter was repeatedly asked to step in front of the cameras by the bjp leader, but her male colleagues sought to defend her. "I don't work in politics full-time. My identification is first a farmer, then a politician, and finally as a bjp member," he declared.
Annamalai stated that he was urging the reporter to ask questions in a suitable manner while the assembled reporters showed their displeasure. The bjp leader replied, "I'm advising you sister with good intentions." Annamalai's behaviour has been denounced by the coimbatore Press Club. "Annamalai should understand the ethics of being a leader and conduct honourably before trying to lecture media ethics. According to AR Babu, president of the coimbatore Press Club, "journalism serves as a conduit between the people and those in public life.
