How many NCP MLAs does Ajit Pawar have support from?
The election commission heard from both the factions led by sharad pawar and ajit pawar, who are claiming the
name and election symbol of the nationalist congress party (NCP). ncp founder sharad pawar was present during the
hearing of both the factions by the election Commission. The Commission has decided to continue the proceedings further
on october 9.
Party’s name and election symbol are stuck in trouble
Maharashtra deputy chief minister ajit pawar, who has moved the election commission claiming the party’s name and
election symbol, said he has received support from 42 out of 53 ncp MLAs in Maharashtra, six out of nine Legislative
Council members, all seven MLAs from Nagaland and Has the support of one member each of lok sabha and Rajya Sabha.
During the hearing, senior lawyer Abhishek manu Singhvi appeared before the election commission on behalf of Sharad
Pawar. Senior lawyers nk Kaul and maninder singh were present on behalf of Ajit Pawar. The faction led by Maharashtra
deputy chief minister ajit pawar had rebelled against ncp leader sharad pawar and approached the election commission,
laying claim to the party's name and election symbol. NCP's election symbol is clock.

ajit pawar, in his plea placed before the Commission, said, In the circumstances, the petitioner says that he enjoys huge
support in the organizational unit as well as the legislative unit of the ncp and hence, the faction led by the petitioner has
been considered by the Honorable Commission. The present petition can be allowed by recognizing the real party.
ajit pawar faction presented arguments in support of its claim before the Commission on Friday. The arguments of the Ajit
Pawar group are likely to continue on monday also. Sharad Pawar's lawyer Singhvi later told reporters that the claims made
by ajit pawar are imaginary.
