Telangana Hyderabad - 23 reservoirs to be inaugurated Today
The second phase, divided into two packages, includes 24-gramme panchayats, seven municipal corporations, and 18 municipalities. The drinking water requirements of Saroornagar, Shamshabad, Ghatkesar, Keesara, Rajendranagar, Medchal, Qutubullapur, Bolarum, and other localities within the 12 mandals covered by this project would be met.
50 more reservoirs will soon be operational, while 23 reservoirs are being officially opened. 25 lakh individuals from 3.6 lakh homes would benefit from these tanks, which were constructed collectively at a cost of Rs. 1200 crore. It will increase the present per capita supply of 75 to 100 litres per capita per day (lpcd) to 150 lpcd thanks to its 138 million litre (ML) capacity and 2988 km of input and output distribution pipelines. Some previously unserved locations will also gain from the increased water supply to current areas.
