Telangana Hyderabad - Deposit your weapons before October 16, city police chief tells License Holders

The twin cities' weapons license holders were instructed by municipal police commissioner C.V. anand, who also serves as the licensing authority, to leave their guns with the police on 16 october in advance of the state elections. "In the interest of public peace and tranquility, the holders of arms licenses residing in the twin cities except those persons employed on guard duty in the premises of national banks, public sector undertakings, and security personnel shall deposit their weapons with the police station concerned or authorized arms dealers before october 16," anand stated in a statement.

He threatened to confiscate the weapons of those who disobeyed and to start penal action against them. After the election is over, on december 10, the permit holders may retrieve their guns. hyderabad City Commissioner of police (CP) CV anand said on monday that 1,587 polling places in the hyderabad district have been designated as crucial polling places after the election commission of India's (ECI) announcement of the dates for Telangana's assembly elections. In order to ensure that the assembly elections on november 30 go off without a hitch, the police have also asked 32 companies of the central forces for support.


Anand stated that integrated checkposts would be installed for monitoring purposes around the city during the election. He said that 24-hour monitoring will be conducted by the authorities in charge of commercial taxes, excise, drugs, Road Transport Authority (RTA), and Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He also indicated that CCTV cameras would be placed close to liquor stores.
