Former maharashtra governor bhagat singh koshyari met deputy chief minister and bjp leader devendra fadnavis at

his official residence here. The meeting was held on sunday at Sagar, the official residence of the Deputy Chief Minister.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), fadnavis said, Former governor bhagat singh koshyari paid a courtesy visit to my

residence Sagar. I welcomed him wholeheartedly. However, details of the meeting were not disclosed.

What happened between the two?

Koshyari's tenure as maharashtra governor was eventful, with an early morning swearing-in ceremony in November

2019 with fadnavis as chief minister and NCP's ajit pawar as deputy chief minister. In june last year, Shiv Sena's Eknath

Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister and fadnavis as the deputy chief minister in the maha Vikas Aghadi

government.

There are many controversies related to Bhagat Singh Koshyari

In one of his earlier statements, koshyari had described maratha emperor shivaji as an "icon of the old days. He said,

"Earlier, when you were asked who was your icon, the answers used to be Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash chandra bose and

Mahatma Gandhi. In maharashtra, you don't need to look anywhere else (because) there are so many icons here. While

Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj is old-fashioned, BR Ambedkar and nitin gadkari are also old-fashioned. In July 2022,

koshyari courted controversy by saying that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis were taken out of maharashtra, the state would

have no money left. He had said, If Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are removed from maharashtra, especially mumbai and

Thane, there will be no money left here.
