community in maharashtra should get the benefit of reservation recommended by the Mandal Commission for

backward classes. Manoj Jarange was earlier on a hunger strike in Jalna district demanding reservation for the

September 14 after chief minister Eknath Shinde met him and assured him that his demands would be met.

Demand to include maratha community in OBC category

Manoj Jarange (40) had given a deadline of 40 days to the Shinde government to take steps to implement

reservation for the maratha community. He is demanding that the maratha community be included in the OBC

category, so that they can get the benefits of reservation. However, OBC community leaders in the state have

opposed this demand. Manoj Jarange claimed, “The government constituted the Mandal Commission and fixed

the reservation limit at 14 percent. How did he later increase this limit from 30 to 32 percent? If Marathas are

included in OBC, it will not affect their reservation. ,
