The first phase of voting for chhattisgarh assembly is going to be held on 7th november and the second phase of voting

is going to be held on 17th November. In such a situation, the party has not yet given ticket to congress MLA Anoop Nag.

He said on wednesday (October 18) that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate from his Antagarh

constituency. He will file his nomination as an independent candidate for the upcoming assembly elections. On Sunday

(October 15), the congress party had released the first list of 30 candidates. congress had expressed confidence in many

old leaders and also included some new data-faces in its first list of candidates announced for the chhattisgarh Assembly

elections. The party refused to give tickets to 8 sitting MLAs, including Nag, in its first list.

Who has congress fielded from Antagarh seat?

Anoop Nag had contested the elections in 2018 from Antagarh seat reserved for Scheduled Tribe category from

Congress Party. In which he won over BJP's vikram Usendi by a margin of 13,414 votes. But congress has not given him

the ticket this time. This time congress has fielded Roop Singh Potai from Antagarh seat. Whereas bjp has again made

former state minister and former mp Usendi its candidate. If Anup Nag does not get the ticket, he has decided to


contest the elections as an independent candidate. He has also purchased the election nomination form. Speaking to

reporters after purchasing the nomination form, Nag said, I have purchased the nomination form as an independent

candidate and will submit it on the last day of filing nomination i.e. october 20. He said that along with the constituency,

the area people from nearby areas are also disappointed that they have not been given tickets. He said, I have worked in

this area for the last five years. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, I have worked in this area. Despite this, The decision

has been taken.
