Cyclone ‘Hamoon’ makes landfall in coastal Bangladesh

As to the india Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclonic Storm 'Hamoon' over coastal bangladesh has started the landfall process and is expected to diminish into a deep depression during the next six hours.

With "a wind speed of 80 to 90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph," the meteorological bureau reported today that "the Cyclonic Storm Hamoon over coastal bangladesh lay centred at 0530 hours IST of october 25th, about 40 km east-southeast of Chittagong (Bangladesh)". The IMD wrote on X. According to the prediction, it will travel northeast and weaken into a deep depression over the next six hours, then continue to weaken into a depression over the following six hours.
Port authorities at Pamban Port, Rameswaram, installed a "storm warning cage number 2" on tuesday to alert fisherman to the Severe Cyclonic Storm "Hamoon" that is brewing over the Bay of Bengal.The odisha government issued an alert for all Urban local Bodies (ULB) on monday due to the development of cyclonic storm "Hamoon" in the Bay of Bengal.

In the meanwhile, the MeT Department said on tuesday that the Severe Cyclonic Storm "TEJ" over coastal yemen deteriorated into a cyclonic storm around 11:30 IST on october 24. Over the course of the next six hours, it is expected to continue moving west-northwest and diminish into a depression.
Additionally, on october 25, light to moderate rainfall is expected in various locations with some heavy rains over Mizoram. On Thursday, there is a good chance of light to moderate rainfall in various areas of Mizoram and Tripura. On wednesday and Thursday, there is a high probability of light to moderate rainfall in various areas of Nagaland, Manipur, and east Arunachal Pradesh.
According to a bulletin from the india MeT department, fishermen are recommended not to travel into the Northeast Bay of bengal and along and off the shores of bangladesh and north Myanmar till october 25. They are also urged not to venture into the neighbouring areas of the northwest and east central Bay of bengal until wednesday afternoon.
