Question is not about Adani, but.. BJP MP's fresh attack on Mahua Moitra

G GOWTHAM
On Wednesday, bjp mp Nishikant Dubey launched a new attack on Mahua Moitra, a legislator for the trinamool congress (TMC), alleging that the latter accepted money from a businessman in exchange for bringing up the adani issue in Parliament. He clarified that the inquiry was "about your corruption by misleading the country," not the adani problem or Moitra's long-standing criticism of him over his "fake degree."
"The question is about Parliament's decorum, national security, and about the MP's propriety, corruption, and criminality," Dubey stated in a hindi post. She must provide information on if NIC mails were viewed in Dubai, if money was requested, and who was responsible for paying for international travel expenditures. She must respond if she obtained approval for her travels from the Speaker of the lok sabha and the Ministry of External Affairs."

"The question is not about adani, degree or theft, but about your corruption by misleading the country," he said, adding hashtags of "degree wali desh beche" (degree holder sells the country) and "chand paise ke le jamir beche" (she sold her conscience for money).

WHAT IS THE CONTROVERSY ALL ABOUT?

Dubey accused Moitra of "asking questions in parliament in exchange for cash and gifts" from industrialist Darshan Hiranandani, which sparked a furor on october 15. He implored Speaker om birla to set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the accusations levelled against her. Dubey's complaint has been forwarded to the Parliament's Ethics Committee by Birla. Dubey cited a letter he got from Moitra's former partner, supreme court lawyer jai Anant Dehadrai, claiming the lawyer had "irrefutable" proof that Moitra took bribes.

In his letter to Birla, Dubey stated that she had asked 50 of the 61 questions she had up until recently in the lok sabha about the adani Group, a business conglomerate that the TMC mp has frequently accused of engaging in unethical practises, particularly after the company was the subject of a damning report from short-seller Hindenburg Research. The fiery TMC leader escalated the argument by accusing her "jilted ex" and a "Fake degree MP" of starting the incident.
