Over the past two days, the temperature in the districts of Rangareddy and hyderabad dropped significantly, much ahead of the usual november arrival of winter. tuesday night's low temperature of 17.8°C represented a -2°C departure from average. According to statistics from the telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the temperature at reddy Pally in Rangareddy varied by -4°C and down to a very cold 12.8°C.
The indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that temperatures in some areas of the city's ghmc boundaries fell below 18°C, which is a change from Telangana's average lowest temperature of about 20°C last week. The even lower 14.2°C reading was obtained by the international Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), which is -4°C below average. The city's temperature may drop even lower, to between 14° and 17°C, according to meteorologists.
In contrast, daytime temperature shows no dip in mercury with the maximum temperature on tuesday recorded at 32.4°C, a rise of 1°C from the normal. Last week, the city witnessed daytime temperatures at 34.6°C, as per the data from TSDPS. IMD’s meteorological experts attribute this early onset of winter to the influx of northerlies into the state. telangana is currently seeing low-level northerlies and north-easterly winds blowing into the state, leading to a temperature drop.
